Jackson Hole’s only National Historic Hotel of America and on the National Register of Historic Places, The Wort Hotel opened in 1941 when downtown’s street were still dirt.
The design style inside The Wort Hotel is Old World, rustic Western. The hotel also has a serious dash of elegance: Walking in the front door, you’re greeted by a grand staircase that you can imagine a cattle baron descending.
From fly fishing, wildlife expeditions, and white water rafting to ski and snowboard excursions including transportation and equipment rental, the friendly and knowledgeable concierge will help make your dream trip a reality.

This rustic hotel offers some surprisingly luxurious touches. All rooms come standard with hypo-allergenic down pillows and duvets, and all bedspreads and pillow shams are locally hand-crafted specially for The Wort Hotel.

Things to Know

Some of the hotel’s original exterior is red rock the Wort brothers quarried themselves in the nearby Gros Ventre (pronounced “Gro Vont” in Jacksonese) Mountains.
Leave your order on your door the night before and have breakfast delivered to you in the morning.

The sumptuous Silver Dollar Suite is the most luxurious accommodation at the Jackson Hole hotel featuring an authentic recreation of the famous Silver Dollar Bar, inlaid with 250 Silver Dollars minted in 1921.

The Restaurants

The seats in the Silver Dollar Bar are more comfortable than those at the more famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar around the corner (the Cowboy’s seats are saddles) and the music scene here is more varied.
Inside the bar's Silver Dollar Showroom, you can hear live music every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The bar’s food is better than most with entrées like a buffalo burger and an elk gyro.
In the adjacent fine-dining restaurant at the Recommended hotel, Silver Dollar Grill, you can order some of town’s best steaks and regional game. Not into game? Silver Dollar Grill also serves fish, chicken and vegetarian dishes.
