Spa at Wynn Palace Macau

A haven on Macau’s entertainment strip
VERIFIED LUXURY
Finding peace and tranquility in a hotel that boasts more than 1,700 rooms on the ever-expanding Cotai strip may seem like an oxymoron. However, as soon as you walk into The Spa at Wynn Palace, with its floral theme and opulent décor, you’ll quickly feel like you’re miles away from the dings of slot machines or the roar of excitement coming from the poker tables.

The third spa owned and operated by the Wynn brand in Macau, this one offers 22 treatment rooms, six of which are VIP executive suites. Designed to mimic the private palaces of China’s royalty, the walls are painted gold and are accessorized with dark wood doors, gold-leaf accents and a hand-painted mural that depicts imperial life running the length of the entrance promenade.

As if that weren’t luxurious enough, you enter the spa through the grand court, which boasts a solid brass Foucault pendulum.

The treatment list is impressively extensive: there are more than 22 services for both men and women. The signature treatments, aptly titled the Emperor and Empress, offer two entirely different (but equally sumptuous) experiences. The Emperor focuses on the four-hand method (two therapists in lieu of one) and deep relaxation, while the Empress works to transform the skin with body polishes, body masks and a full-body herbal massage.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The imperial-themed signature treatments, created exclusively for Wynn Palace, focus on the different pressure and pain points men and women experience (like deep tissue massages for the men and silk milk baths for the women).
  • Wynn Palace’s Royal Enchantment treatment provides a four-handed approach to a traditional massage, with gentle strokes and hot herbal compression on both the head and feet.
  • Designed by world-famous hotel design firm TAL Studio, which also did several of Las Vegas’ famous resorts, the spa’s furniture and style emulate the rooms of China’s deluxe royal palaces, so expect to find gold accents on everything (even the door handles).
  • The VIP suites, which look more like private bedrooms than traditional therapy rooms, tout endless amenities, including handmade wall coverings spun with silk, daybeds for relaxation, soaking tubs and a water therapy area paved with soft stones.
Things to Know
  • The spa area, which encompasses more than 48,000 square feet, also has a fitness center, a private spa pool (perfect for swimming laps) and a large outdoor pool (better suited for sun bathing and cocktail sipping).
  • If you’re not a fan of over-the-top glitz and exuberant floral designs, this isn’t’ your place.
The Treatments
  • The Emperor starts with a head-to-toe heated stone and deep-tissue massage performed by two therapists. It’s then followed by a firming facial tonic and complete with a men’s manicure and pedicure.
  • The Empress offers women 180 minutes of bliss, starting with an antioxidant milk bath followed by a full-body exfoliation and a detoxifying body mask. It ends with a warm herbal poultice massage.
  • Another top option is the Royal Enchantment, a four-handed massage that focuses on all pressure points, including the scalp and feet. Select 90 or 120 minutes.
  • Keeping with the resort’s opulent theme, the Diamond Life Infusion facial uses a gold bar and a gold soft mask to encourage skin rejuvenation and facial contouring.
  • The Diamond Multisensory Lifting treatment reinforces the skin’s natural firmness.
The Facilities
  • You can’t get more royal than the VIP treatment rooms, which tout their own private water therapy zone, daybeds and soaking tubs.
  • The largest spa in Macau, the facility also feature a spacious fitness center, an outdoor pool, a separate spa pool, a healthy café and a salon.
  • Adjacent to the gym, which is outfitted with Cybex training equipment, are the steam rooms, saunas and whirlpools (separate for men and women).
  • The outdoor pool is a work of art in itself, tiled inside and out with bright, floral mosaics. The cabanas and lounge chairs boast bright yellow pillows and a large, living flower sphere sits on a bed of tropical blooms, serving as a statement art piece for ample Instagram selfies.
  • Part of the sprawling spa complex is the Wynn Palace flower shop. The passion for flowers is apparent throughout the entire resort, from the arrangements in the spa to the giant sphere in the pool and the boutique bouquets placed in the lobby and restaurants. Order your own custom arrangement or simply watch the talented flower artists arrange the brightly colored blossoms.
