The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, D.C.

Where D.C.’s movers and shakers reboot
VERIFIED LUXURY
Celebrities looking to stay undercover know to go to Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Four Seasons Hotel Washington, D.C. But when they want to leave the comfort of their rooms, they don’t only sneak off to Michael Mina’s in-house Bourbon Steak or breakfast hot spot Seasons; they also indulge in the hotel’s equally glam but decidedly more relaxing below-ground sanctuary known as The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, D.C.

Offering treatments that use products from the likes of Amala and Kate Somerville, Four Seasons’ spa specializes in results-oriented services in a pampering environment. Guests and locals alike visit frequently for the red-carpet treatment – no celebrity status necessary.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The spa facilities at the Four Seasons are certainly high-end, but visitors return time and again for the quality services, cozy, well-appointed treatment rooms and experienced therapists, many of whom have been at the hotel for over a decade.
  • One of our favorite offerings at is the elegant Night Spa package. With this special, you gain exclusive access to the spa after closing time for a memorable treatment.
  • Check in at the reception desk and browse the chic array of yoga wear and spa products by names like Carita before heading back into the locker area.
  • In the locker room, you’ll slip into a plush bathrobe waiting in your locker, grab a glass of fruit-infused water and take off your makeup with wipes by cult brand La Fresh.
  • After that, relax and unwind with a sauna, Jacuzzi or eucalyptus-scented steam.
Things to Know
  • The relaxation area is small, but it offers comfortable couches and a nice selection of current magazines.
  • If you can, book Monday to Thursday, when treatments are a bit more economical and the spa is quieter.
  • Although not technically part of the spa proper, all beauty services – including nails — are located just outside the sanctuary’s walls but still on the grounds of the Four Seasons.
  • Today, nearly every A-lister who’s come through the nation’s capital has booked an appointment with Ismail Tekin, the salon’s new owner and expert colorist.
The Treatments
  • We love to get red-carpet ready with the Kate Somerville dermal quench facial, which offers a hydrating boost of vitamins and hyaluronic acid to liven skin, fill in wrinkles and give a well-rested glow.
  • When it comes to a massage at the D.C. sanctuary, our vote goes to the 50-minute deep tissue option.
  • Be it overtired “iPhone fingers” or stiff muscles from that extra SoulCycle session, therapists listen to your every concern and work to get things right.
