Our Inspector's Highlights
  • As you walk through the largest urban spa in all Four Seasons properties, the ambience is exactly what you hope from a spa experience — calm, welcoming, friendly and relaxing.
  • While the chic spa’s floor-to-ceiling windows provide amazing views of Yorkville and surrounding areas, it’s the pool area and balcony that have the finest vistas in the spa.
  • A sweet yet refreshing aroma that will follow you through your day there, but it is not invasive. It is a pleasant surprise.
  • Feel free to arrive with a bit of an appetite since the relaxation lounges are stocked with tasty snacks like green apples, chocolate biscotti and moist financier-like cookies.
  • Whether you want to enjoy an aromatherapy massage alongside your significant other, a family member or a friend, the intimate spa provides treatments for twosomes in its larger suites.
Things to Know
  • To set a sleepy mood, choose from various playlists, which include classical music and ambient noises, and then get wrapped in the softest of fur blankets while being treated to massages and facials.
  • If you want a proper lunch following your treatment, all you have to do is take the elevator to the second floor, where you can enjoy excellent French-influenced cuisine at Café Boulud, the Toronto outpost of Daniel Boulud’s acclaimed New York City eatery.
  • The pool areas do tend to get crowded with hotel guests and are a popular spot for families and kids, so if you’re looking for a bit of quiet and Zen, head to the invigorating eucalyptus steam room in the back of the relaxation lounge.
  • The best way to get an appointment is through its easy-to-use online booking system. However, for questions about specific treatments or if you prefer to talk to a staff member to book your appointment, call the spa directly.
  • Its body-care line was created exclusively for the Five-Star spa and is available in three scents: honey lavender, white tea bergamot and grapefruit coconut. The body lotion for each fragrance is available at the front desk for you to try.
The Treatments
  • Combining a foot bath, Indian head massage, a 60-minute Asian fusion massage, and a 75-minute classic European facial, the Cultural Mosaic of Canada package illustrates Canada’s cultural heritage and diversity.
  • Using the healing power of precious minerals and gemstones including rose quartz, platinum, copper and nano-gold as well as sapphires, rubies, diamonds and pearls, the Holistic Sapphire Gemstone Facial also employs Eastern healing techniques enhanced with crystal wands and gemstones to promote lymphatic drainage.
  • The gentle foaming Snowbird Ruby Red Grapefruit Scrub sloughs away dry skin cells leaving you silky smooth and glowing. Invigorating ruby red grapefruit essential oils and ground walnut shells produce a rich and luxurious lather that both exfoliates and nourishes.
  • The spa’s bright and airy nail bar specializes in shellac manicures and pedicures and carries a good selection of colorful CND polishes.
The Facilities
  • The spa has an indoor swimming pool and heated whirlpool, a spacious eucalyptus steam room, a light-filled nail bar and hair salon, a small boutique and a 3,500-square-foot gym located one floor down.
  • The treatment rooms don’t focus on the views. Instead, they have blackout curtains, in the hopes that you relax enough to catch a dream or two.
  • Couples suites come equipped with two treatment beds, which are covered in the spa’s signature fur blankets. Like all other suites, an iPad is available to choose a playlist of music and heavy curtains cover the floor-to-ceiling windows.
  • We love the showers’ natural look — there’s even a wooden ottoman for seating or resting your leg upon while shaving. The bath products are also all-natural or organic, meaning you don’t have to worry about any harsh chemicals.
  • The illuminated grooming stations to blow dry and style your hair and primp (there’s even mouthwash to freshen up your smile). With so much to do, it’s easy to spend a full afternoon inside the locker room at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star spa.
