The Spa at the Woodstock Inn & Resort

A tranquil reprieve in Vermont
VERIFIED LUXURY
The modern, minimalist design of The Spa at the Woodstock Inn & Resort invites you to bask in its sunlit serene spaces. The bright and sunny Great Room sanctuary is bathed in natural light thanks to oversized windows and white walls that were purposefully designed to reflect the sunlight as it moves throughout the day.

Materials like Shaker wood stoves, white oak flooring and smooth blue stone tiles were chosen specifically to create a simple, uncluttered space. The only sound you’ll hear in this meditative area is water trickling from the fountains.

Paying homage to many of Vermont’s talented artists, the facility’s design incorporates locally sourced furniture and décor elements. Throughout the 10,000-square-foot spa, you will find benches and tables from local furniture maker Charles Shackleton, hand-blown lights from the world-renowned Vermont-based glassmaker Simon Pearce and Farmhouse Pottery pieces.

Our Inspector's Highlights
• Total relaxation is achieved at the end of each massage with hot foot towels, a neck warmer and silk eye pillow. After your luxurious treatment, the therapist will greet you with water and the spa’s signature lavender macaron, which can be purchased to take home as well.

• In addition to a complimentary bar stocked with cucumber water, tea, fruit and granola, you can order a small bite to eat, a handcrafted cocktail or a glass of wine to be delivered to the spa to enjoy after your treatment.

• There is radiant heat flooring throughout spa, both indoors and out, which is particularly welcome during the winter months in Vermont.

• On staff is a highly trained reflexologist who stimulates pressure points on the feet to relieve tension while restoring balance and harmony, a decided upgrade from your typical food massage.

Woodstock Inn & Resort’s spa uses only organic products that are paraben- and dye-free without any harmful synthetics. Its facial and body products come from boutique lines such as Naturopathica and EmerginC.
Things to Know
• While locker rooms are separate for men and women, the Great Room where you relax before and after treatments is coed. If you are not comfortable in this space, each locker room does have a small, private meditation room.

• Bring your bathing suit. Just off the Great Room is a four-season secluded courtyard that is home to a large coed whirlpool and Scandinavian cedar sauna for your enjoyment.

• Locker rooms have luxurious oversized showers and a eucalyptus steam room.

• The organic Pure-ssage oil used during massages is unscented and absorbed directly into the skin, leaving you feeling moisturized with no greasy residue.
The Treatments
• The spa’s most popular treatment, the Body Back Melt Therapy, uses hot packs and arnica to ease away stress and restore your sense of well-being.

• Indulge in the signature 100-minute personalized body treatment to achieve bliss. It includes a seasonal body scrub, wrap and full-body massage.

• When you’re in dire need of relaxation, get The Works — an 80-minute Swedish massage, an 80-minute facial, a 50-minute manicure and an 80-minute pedicure.

• Peruse the spa’s enhancement menu to add on a Himalayan salt scrub, revitalizing eye mask or Moroccan oil scalp massage to any treatment.

• Men have their own menu of treatments, including the Golfer’s Delight, a recovery massage, and a steamed facial that offers steamed towels, exfoliation, hydration and a neck and shoulder rub.
The Rooms
• There are 10 treatment rooms, three with showers and four with wood stoves. Unlike most spas, every treatment room has windows.

• Indulge in the ultimate romantic experience by booking a treatment in the spa’s oversized couples massage suite. Schedule in an extra 30 to 60 minutes to take advantage of the custom-made hinoki wooden Japanese soaking tub, private multi-head shower and wood-burning fireplace.

• Continuing to bring nature into the Woodstock spa, on the door of every treatment room is a cast-in-copper botanical element that was collected from the forests and fields surrounding the inn.
