Our Inspector's Highlights
- Marvel at the hand-blown glass-flecked spheres suspended by bronze cables, or the glass-encased, temperature-controlled wine vaults at each end of the room. The only sign you’re in a historic hotel is the ornate landmarked ceiling in the main dining room.
- The wine list highlights new Mediterranean regions as well as classics from France and California, plus a robust list of champagnes, thanks to a partnership with Dom Pérignon.
Things to Know
- Alhambra serves breakfast seven days a week from 7 to 11 a.m. and provides a power lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- An elegant American fine-dining experience can be had Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
- The dress code at Alhambra is smart casual. You don’t have to get totally dressed up and most any attire will pass but you might want to wear something nicer than sneakers and jeans to feel most comfortable.
The Food
- The breakfast menu features a wide array of options from the traditional (smoked salmon, blueberry buttermilk pancakes), to international flavors (tortilla espanola frittata, tostada de jamon y tomate) and even extravagant fare (the Titanic omelet with Maine Lobster, Maryland jumbo lump crab, Osetra caviar and black Italian truffles).
- At lunchtime, you’ll find a selection of American fare (burgers and lobster rolls) alongside Spanish-influenced dishes—think salmorejo (cold tomato soup with Iberic ham), grilled octopus with Peruvian potato puree and corvine plancha with Valencia orange salad.
- Dinner can be as elegant an affair as you desire. Start with selections ranging from $200 caviar to a traditional country pate or Spanish cheese board before digging into seafood risotto, prime cuts or rack of lamb.
