The Palms Turks and Caicos

Providenciales elegance with Caribbean flair
VERIFIED LUXURY

Consider The Palms Turks and Caicos the point where two worlds meet — one is that of colonial-era Caribbean, the other is the realm of modern-day luxury, with tropical-chic touches that tie the two together.

The idea of inhabiting two worlds is evident the moment you step through the resort’s open-air lobby to its iconic courtyard. Walls and arches of limestone coupled with white-washed wooden trellises offer a glimpse of Old World Caribbean. But the well-manicured grounds, high-end boutiques that flank the courtyard and infinity pool that awaits around the corner all bring you back to the contemporary.

And that’s before you’ve even stepped foot into your room — or seen the world-famous blue hues of Grace Bay Beach just steps from your picture-perfect perch. Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink of mulled cucumber and mint, freshen up with a cold towel and start exploring.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Head to The Spa at The Palms to try its bespoke Zareeba experience: an herbal steam cleansing and meditative ritual that involves a steaming pot of freshly brewed herbs that you stir in an enclosed space while inhaling the purifying aromas. After a moment to cool down, you’re treated to a 60-minute massage with organic coconut oil.
  • The Palms impresses with its attention to detail: mahogany doors, travertine floors, statement furniture pieces and subtle pops of seafoam green (the resort’s signature color) permeate the décor.
  • The Turks and Caicos hotel is known for its unique experiences. Indulge in moonbathing, a nighttime event that includes mini spa treatments, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres enjoyed from lounge chairs under the stars.
  • The lush greenery throughout the property seems to transcend time. From the two towering poinciana trees in the courtyard’s center that produce fiery red flowers to the giant banyan tree that’s stood in the breakfast garden since before the resort was built in 2005, the beauty of The Palms is only elevated by the tropical flora that surround it.
  • The heart of the luxury resort is the serpentine infinity pool that snakes its way through the center of the property. Grab a lounge chair or plush round daybed and soak up the sun as attentive staff provides chilled towels and fresh fruit kebabs throughout the afternoon.

Things to Know

  • Come as a couple or bring the kids. Some spaces (like the deck by the beach) are reserved for adults, but there’s complimentary childcare onsite for families.
  • A breakfast buffet comes with your room.
  • Want to explore Grace Bay by kayak or paddleboard? Non-motorized water sport equipment is complimentary at The Palms.
  • No matter where you dine at The Palms, opt for Caicos lobster when it’s in season.

The Rooms

  • The 72 suites, ranging from the 640-square-foot Junior Suite to a nearly 3,800-square-foot Ocean Front Penthouse, all have a private balcony or terrace and a full-size sleeper sofa.
  • No detail has been overlooked, from the carefully selected artwork to the intricate designs on every room’s A/C covers.
  • Ideal for families or group travel, multi-bedroom suites and penthouses come with full kitchens and a private washer and dryer.
  • Ocean-view suites will have you in a daze staring out at the turquoise expanse that brings visitors back here every year. But with its immaculate grounds, the resort’s garden-view accommodations are equally as enticing.

The Restaurants
  • For fine dining, head to Parallel 23. Here, you’ll find classic black-and-white-checkered tiles, eclectic decor, a breezy terrace that overlooks the courtyard and delectable dishes like local conch ceviche, soaked in lemon and lime juice and served with mango and papaya chutney and spiced yucca chips from executive chef Lauren Callighen.
  • Head to 72º West on the beach for more casual, but thoughtfully prepared dishes such as juicy barbecue pork ribs and roasted jerk-spiced chicken breast. Don’t miss the tomato gazpacho starter — fresh heirloom tomatoes, sliced avocado and crispy bacon provide all the comforting flavors of a BLT with an island twist.
  • Start your day with a gratis breakfast buffet in The Garden surrounded by the island’s verdant palms. Expect staples like fresh fruit, flaky pastries and an omelette station.
  • Order Caicos conch fritters or a refreshing lobster and crab salad from Plunge Bar without ever having to leave the infinity pool. Or take a seat on one of the seafoam-colored stools in the sand at the small but charming beach bar Ozmosis.
  • Go to the lively L'Attitude Bar for tapas and a nightcap.
