Entering Lotte Hotel St. Petersburg’s lobby, you might think that you’ve stepped into one of St. Petersburg numerous palaces. Italian marble, lustrous amber glass, shining mirrors, sculptures and gilt décor — it boasts the same opulence as the former residences of Russian czars.

While the hotel is in a historic 19th-century building — it once housed the apartment of John Quincy Adams, who served as the U.S. ambassador to Russia before becoming the sixth president of the United States — the mansion was renovated and equipped with modern technology before opening in 2017.

The property was designed to reflect respect and admiration of St. Petersburg. Paintings with iconic city views hang in the lobby and rooms, while cocktails bear names of historic landmarks.

When you’ve had enough sightseeing, just head downstairs. The whole underground floor is occupied by a serene Mandara Spa.

Lotte Hotel St. Petersburg is as sumptuous on the inside as its stately exterior suggests. Interiors feature several types of marble and natural wood, luxury Italian furniture by Sevensedie, English wool carpets by Brintons and a stained-glass chandelier in the lobby.
Situated in St. Petersburg’s luxury hotel district, the 150-room retreat affords one of the most impressive views of St. Isaac’s cathedral and picturesque Moyka River. Other cultural attractions, like the 19th-century Mariinsky Theatre, are just a 10-minute walk from the historic property.
The hotel’s centerpiece, The Lounge emulates the lavish winter gardens of Russian czars. The sprawling 9,100-square-foot space is crowned by a giant glass cupola adorned with Korean water lilies — a stylish nod to Lotte Hotels and Resorts’ home base in South Korea.
A touch of the tropics in Russia, Mandara Spa is a relaxing Bali export. Between treatments, be sure to unwind in the serene blue-tiled pool — the low lighting, stunning accent wall and hanging chairs invite you to linger.
Live the high life in the palatial 2,325-square-foot Presidential Suite. Boasting 180-degree Isaac’s Square views, the lavish space is outfitted with a stately 10-seat dining room, a roaring fireplace, a chocolate marble master bathroom (complete with a claw-foot tub) and plenty of gold accents.

Rooftop bar L Terrasa is open from May to September. Northern summers are very short, so make the most of these warmer evenings with delicious snacks, cocktails and St. Petersburg views.

The Rooms

While room designs vary (accommodations on the second and third floors have high ceilings and a classic style; the top two levels feature contemporary design), all 150 accommodations are equipped with digital control smart panels, so you can change the lighting, adjust the air conditioning and switch on “do not disturb” mode without leaving your bed.
Rooms looking inward toward the spacious atrium are still filled with natural light — a rarity in St. Petersburg.
Accommodations have beautiful marble bathrooms, with nearly all holding gorgeous soaking tubs. Rooms come equipped with Molton Brown toiletries, while suites have Bulgari sets.

Sleek MEGUmi restaurant serves up both classic and modern Japanese cuisine alongside a list of more than two dozen sakes. All authentic ingredients are delivered directly from Tokyo.
Start your day with a bountiful breakfast in The Lounge, where a traditional European spread is complemented by thematic stations like a delicious Russian table and an authentic Asian Corner. Following the cosmopolitan atmosphere of St. Petersburg, the all-day dining venue brings a fusion menu of Mediterranean, pan-Asian, Mexican and traditional Russian recipes.
Named for Blue Bridge adjacent to the hotel, Siniy Most bar shakes up creative cocktails inspired by other prominent St. Petersburg sights. Signature sips include Peter the Great (cherry vodka, Kahlúa, maraschino liqueur and cherry brandy liqueur), Bronze Horseman (pepper vodka, mandarin juice and cinnamon syrup) and the bar’s eponymous cerulean-hued drink (vodka, blue curacao, white wine and yogurt foam).
