MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa

A secluded all-inclusive in the Seychelles
VERIFIED LUXURY

With its stunning white sands, sparkling turquoise waters and verdant green hillside, the Seychelles’ MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa certainly looks the part of paradise. Occupying a private 30-acre peninsula on Mahé, this hideaway puts a luxurious twist on an all-inclusive getaway.

Here, all rooms are villas, outfitted with Instagram-worthy infinity pools, sunken stone tubs and chic, Balinese-inspired décor courtesy of renowned resort architects Bill Bensley and Lek Bunnag.

Every guest is assigned a 24-hour butler, who will deliver sunscreen before your morning hike and book a massage for you upon your return. Meals can be served in the restaurant, but why would you descend from your villa in the clouds when you can have whatever you crave delivered right to your poolside perch?

Set your internal clock to island time and let MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa whisk you away to tropical bliss.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa’s 30 villas are as sumptuous as they are spacious, but the real highlight is waking up to that ocean view through a wall-sized window. Keep the sliding glass door open to let soft winds flow through your bedroom.
  • The spa’s three open-air pavilions allow you to be serenaded by birdsong and cooled via sea breezes as you enjoy some island-inspired pampering. Opt for one of the exclusive treatments from Budapest-based beauty brand Omorovicza like the Mineral Rich Facial or The Gold Body Treatment.
  • The Seychelles hotel's Beyond All-Inclusive concept means that not only are all your meals included in your stay, you’ll also receive gratis butler services, daily yoga and qi gong, and unlimited scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding.
  • Those sweet scents around the property are all-natural. The resort’s 30 acres of gorgeous gardens are home to more than 300 exotic species, including fragrant hibiscus, frangipani, lemongrass and jasmine.
  • Whether you’re craving fresh seafood on the beach, poolside pasta or late-night cheesecake in your villa, you can have it thanks to MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa’s Whatever, Wherever, Whenever all-inclusive policy. A selection of five cuisines is provided but guest are encouraged to order off-menu.

Things to Know

  • MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa is perched on a private peninsula about 30 minutes from Seychelles International Airport. If you prefer to make an entrance, you can arrive by helicopter transfer on the resort’s own helipad.
  • Since most guests prefer to linger in their private plunge pools, there’s a decent chance that you can have the resort’s main infinity pool and its orange loungers all to yourself.
  • The aforementioned garden isn’t just nice to look at. Kitchen staff actually forages it for fresh produce. Foodies can savor the bounty in a minty mojito or cinnamon-laced dessert, while nature lovers can opt for a private tour led by head gardener Allain Marguerite.

The Rooms

  • Each villa comes decked out in cushy creature comforts like private infinity pools, sunken outdoor bathtubs, full-sized Hermès amenities, smart TVs and dedicated butler service.
  • Balinese-inspired bedrooms have high ceilings, teak and stone finishes, black-and-white photographs and onyx bowls set in hammered copper alcoves for a subtle yet stylish finishing touch.
  • The 13 Ocean Panoramic Villas offer extra privacy. Though tucked into the hillside and surrounded by lush foliage, they still feature views of the bay, beach and ocean beyond.
  • Signature Villas up the luxury ante with extra perks like in-villa private yoga, guaranteed late check out and, in some of the units, direct beach access.

The Look

  • The property draws inspiration from both East African Swahili architecture and Far Eastern design elements. Look for plenty of carved stone, precious woods and delicate metal work throughout the resort.
  • Hammered metal also features prominently throughout the luxury hotel. Copper-lined alcoves beautifully reflect candlelight and metal strips are woven into the pillars of African bracelet-inspired chandeliers.
  • Look out for locally inspired touches in your villa, too. Freestanding stone sinks emulate the granite island’s foundation. Decorative chameleons keep curtains from obstructing your view. Wahoo-shaped fixtures adorn your glass-walled shower door.
