VERIFIED LUXURY
We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These are outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended
These are excellent properties with consistently good service and facilities.
Soon To Be Rated
As our highly trained, incognito inspectors work to assess properties, our editors check them out ahead of time and provide a sneak preview of what to expect.
Yeouido is often called the Manhattan of Seoul, an island in the Han River that hosts the city’s financial district, the tallest building in the country, the National Assembly and Conrad Seoul, one of the city’s finest hotels.
Within the Yeouido Business District and near Seoul’s airports, the hotel is nicely situated for those who want to mix business and pleasure, from the elegant meeting spaces and 37th-floor Executive Lounge to the kitted-out spa and range of restaurants. Perhaps the biggest perk is its location near Yeouido Station, a major bonus in this busy city.

Our Inspector's Highlights
- High, dramatic ceilings are a common theme throughout Conrad Seoul, beginning with the bright, airy lobby. The ceiling is adorned with amber-colored ginkgo leaf chandeliers, which represents fortune and wellness in Korea.
- The hotel’s Wellness Zone is exactly that — a sleek space where you can workout in the 24-hour fitness center, do laps in the indoor heated swimming pool, relax in the steam room and sauna, or get pampered at the adjacent luxury spa.
- Glass elevators with views of the river sweep up to the fifth, sixth and seventh stories, where most functions take place.
- On Sundays Atrio has a night dedicated to pimaek (a hybrid word combing “pizza” and the Korean word for “beer”), during which it serves unique table-length pizzas and brews.
Things to Know
- Look out for the ginkgo leaf motif that stretches throughout the luxury hotel, on rugs, walls and as pieces of art.
- The 36th-floor Penthouse Suite is the ultimate in Conrad luxury, the preference of Hollywood stars on location. At 3,100-square-feet, the bedroom is like a suite of its own and everything else is luxuriously enormous.
The Rooms
- Each 517-square-foot standard room in the Seoul hotel features two queen or one king bed, and a marble bathroom with double vanities, a soaking tub and mirrors with inlaid televisions.
- Rooms and suites also have a “magic glass” between the bathroom and the bedroom — a button turns the window from clear glass to frosted.
- Eighty percent of the rooms have river views, which are particularly beautiful at night when the bridges are lit up.
- There are 47 1,033-square-foot Corner Suites, with views both of the river and the financial district, including the iconic 63 Building. They feature very large living and dining rooms, a big bedroom, and a huge bathroom and walk-in closet, plus a small kitchen.
The Restaurants
- On the second floor is Zest, a buffet split into four sections: Japanese and Western food; mixed Asian; Korean food and Western barbecue; and a dessert bar. Particularly popular is the sushi and sashimi at the Japanese station, and the house-made gelato at desserts station.
- Across from Zest is Atrio, a classy, beautifully lit Italian restaurant with fresh pasta, a pizza oven and live jazz in the evenings.
- On the 37th floor is the 37 Grill & Bar, which affords spectacular views of the city, day or night. The 37 is divided into a restaurant section, with two open kitchens, two private dining rooms and a British chef who specializes in tomahawk steaks.
- In addition, VVertigo sky lounge on the 9th floor is open throughout Summer, offering signature cocktails, grilled foods and contemporary live music in the hidden gem amidst the high-rise buildings of Yeouido.
