Dossier

Modern elegance in the heart of Portland
VERIFIED LUXURY
Nestled just blocks away from Portland’s living room (Pioneer Courthouse Square) is the newly opened Dossier. Pairing great accessibility to the area’s main attractions with sublimely luxurious touches, Dossier provides an ideal home base while visiting the City of Roses.

Dossier opened its doors in August 2017 to debut 205 rooms and 17 suites, stunning interiors, a timeless sense of modernism, two original dining venues and a focus on thoughtful service.

Keeping in line with other Provenance Hotels, Dossier also features an extensive art collection with pieces ranging from a multimedia display by Tony Oursler in the lobby to Slim Aarons photography in the guest rooms.

Thoughtful and sometimes understated touches are evident throughout Dossier. They are subtle reminders of the refined luxury for which the Provenance brand is known.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Incorporate some wellness into your Portland stay at the Dossier’s 24-hour fitness center, equipped with Peloton bikes, medicine balls and more to help you work up a sweat. Or head outdoors for exercise and explore the city on the complimentary Shinola bikes.
  • Take advantage of the locally influenced honor bar in your room, featuring the best of Portland’s spirits, wines, beers and other tasty treats. Taste Burnside bourbon, DL Franklin vodka, Durant Vineyards pinot noir, BridgePort beer and more.
  • Mosaic tiled floors in the hotel’s lobby and Opal Bar provide eye-catching and elegant design elements that are certainly Instagram-worthy.
  • Upscale touches in all the guest rooms include a nod to Portland, like the body and skincare products by Lather and Bee Local featuring Oregon honey.
  • Dossier’s friendly and attentive staff takes concierge service to the next level. Want a private tour of a vineyard in nearby wine country or need the hotel’s on-call graphic designer to assist with a business presentation? Consider it done.
Things to Know
  • Let the Dossier staff know if you have a sweet tooth and it will deliver a pint of Portland’s famous Salt & Straw ice cream right to your room. Try the roasted strawberry coconut or a classic like sea salt with caramel ribbons.
  • Your four-legged friends are just as welcome at Dossier as you are. In addition to greeting animals with a plush bed, bowls, a toy and a tasty treat, the hotel offers pet room service and a list of local resources spanning from walkers to pet psychics.
  • The Portland hotel is so centrally located that parking nearby can be challenging. We recommend valeting your car and traveling the city by foot or Portland’s various rail lines.
  • The hotel’s parking garage is equipped with Tesla charging stations.
The Rooms
  • Large windows let natural light pour into the guest rooms while also highlighting views of the city.
  • A palette of soft browns, oranges and yellows; Tivoli clock radios; and playful Slim Aarons 20th-century prints of jet-setters add a retro-chic vibe to the rooms.
  • The bathrooms provide a serene space with light gray walls and a separate tub and shower.
  • When your head finally meets your bed at the end of the day, it will be among the most comfortable pillows you’ve ever slept on. If it isn’t, just select one that’s better for your needs from Dossier’s pillow menu.
  • Down feather comforters, Beautyrest pillowtop mattresses, Mascioni linens and duvet covers on the plush beds mean you’ll sleep well and wake up refreshed at the luxury hotel.
The Restaurants
  • The Opal bar is a modern, sleek space that would seem right at home in Europe. The ornate walnut ceiling, mosaic floors and comfortable barstools provide a beautiful backdrop for thee evening.
  • In addition to a creative cocktail menu (try the Bourbon Revival, made with whiskey, ginger-pomegranate syrup and lime), Opal offers a small lunch selection and an array of shareable bar bites (including a vegan burger) that will make you want to linger.
  • Next door to Opal is the intimate Italian restaurant Omertà, where chef Mark Barrett brings experience working with Mario Batali, as well as time spent cooking in Italy.
  • Omertà’s menu features traditional Italian recipes using fresh, seasonal ingredients. The wine list complements the culinary options with selections from Oregon’s own Willamette Valley vineyards, as well as from every major Italian wine-growing region.
