Movie magic meets seaborne luxury when you board a Disney Cruise Line ship. For more than two decades, the Mickey Mouse-emblazoned vessels have taken families on endless adventures, from European destinations to Bahamian islands, showcasing top-notch entertainment and gourmet goodies along the way.

- Disney Cruise Line’s innovative dining structure ensures you’ll never eat the same meal twice — unless you so choose. Each night, you’ll rotate to one of three themed restaurants accompanied by your dedicated waitstaff. So, while the surroundings change, the stellar service stays the same.
- As you might expect from a ship bearing the Mouse’s moniker, the entertainment is a standout. First-run Disney film premieres, Marvel- and Star Wars-themed days at sea and nightly shows in the Walt Disney Theatre (productions include Beauty and the Beast and Disney’s Aladdin—A Musical Spectacular) are not to be missed.
- While there is almost nonstop entertainment for kids, grown-ups aren’t forgotten on these sublime ships. Unwind at Senses Spa & Salon, savor modern Italian cuisine at Palo or head for the adults-only entertainment district, home to pubs, nightclubs and lounges with a more sophisticated bent.
- Disney Cruise Line sails as far as Alaska and St. Petersburg, Russia, but the brand’s signature stop is its own private Caribbean island, Castaway Cay. In addition to exclusivity, you’ll enjoy an array of amenities, including family-friendly and adults-only beaches, port adventures like stingray interactions and glass-bottom boat tours, and an island-inspired barbecue complete with a colorful cast of characters.
- Book your escape on Disney Dream or Disney Fantasy to indulge in elegant French fare at the brand’s first seaborne fine-dining venue, Remy (inspired by Disney’s 2007 animated film Ratatouille). The adults-only restaurant includes a multi-course tasting menu from chef Scott Hunnel of Orlando’s Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Victoria & Albert’s and extravagant extras such as a gourmet cheese trolley and an extensive wine menu.
Things to Know
- Check out Disney’s yellow lifeboats while strolling the deck — the company was given special permission by the U.S. Coast Guard to use the signature Mickey Mouse color rather than standard orange.
- In early 2020, Disney Cruise Line will debut a new home port in New Orleans, making trips to Cozumel and the Western Caribbean even easier. The brand will also make its highly anticipated return to Hawaii after a five-year hiatus.
- Echoing the signature finale found at its theme parks, fireworks shows are a hallmark of Disney Cruise Line. The company was the first to offer pyrotechnics at sea.
- While it’s all fun and games on the surface, the company takes its impact on the environment seriously. Disney Cruise Line was the first in the industry to utilize 100 percent non-toxic hull coating on its ships, and each vessel recycles condensation from its onboard air-conditioning units to wash the decks, saving up to 30 million gallons of fresh water every year.
The Fleet
- Disney Cruise Line’s fleet is composed of four ships — Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. Three more are scheduled for completion in 2021 (Disney Wish), 2022 and 2023.
- The original Mouse-branded ship, Disney Magic, carries up to 2,700 passengers to the Caribbean and destinations in Europe, including Amsterdam, Lisbon and Naples.
- The 984-foot Disney Wonder makes regular ports of call in Alaska, Cabo San Lucas, the Western Caribbean (Cozumel and San Juan) and the Bahamas.
- Disney Dream is a 1,115-foot ship that regularly cruises to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay.
- The newest ship in the fleet, Disney Fantasy, ferries up to 4,000 guests throughout the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
The Staterooms
- No matter which ship you choose, you’ll find a selection of four stateroom categories (Inside, Oceanview, Verandah and Concierge) all decked out in nautical décor: a blue-and-white color palette with pops of red, anchor and star motifs, and wood paneling.
- Built for families, every accommodation can sleep up to four with a queen bed, a single sleeper sofa and an upper-berth pull-down bed — think instant bunk beds.
- Even Standard Inside staterooms offer a cozy sitting area with a 22-inch LCD televisions, a desk, a full vanity, Frette linens and a privacy curtain between the bed and living spaces.
- Look out for whimsical touches, including a starry mural of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell that appears when the upper-berth bed is pulled down and a Magical Porthole in Inside Staterooms that might reveal aquatic Disney characters or animated pirate ships floating by.
- For the royal treatment, opt for a Concierge level room or suite. Decked out in art deco elegance, these one- or two-bedroom accommodations feature marble-and-granite bathrooms, original artwork, pillow menus, furnished verandahs and extra perks, including priority boarding, dedicated concierge services and access to the exclusive Concierge Lounge.
