Canoe Bay
Northwestern Wisconsin's wooded wonderland
VERIFIED LUXURY
We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These are outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended
These are excellent properties with consistently good service and facilities.

Situated on 300 acres in northwestern Wisconsin, this secluded adults-only hideaway is the perfect place to escape from the stress of everyday life. Comprising 27 guest accommodations in some 20 structures, each room and cottage is designed for just two adults, offering incredible privacy for comfort and relaxation.

The Rooms
- There are 12 different choices for accommodations, but all are at least fairly private and offer views of the lake and prairie.
-
Standard features in every room and cottage include a king bed, fireplace, private deck, two-person whirlpool tub, flat-screen TV with DVD player and mini-fridge.

The only two-bedroom accommodation is the Edgewood Villa, but it is definitely worth the splurge, featuring vaulted ceilings, 50 continuous feet of windows, TV system with surround sound and a 1,500 square foot wraparound deck that is accessible from each room.
- All rooms feature wooden walls, exposed wooden beams, and stone fireplaces, giving the space a cozy, romantic feel no matter where you stay.
