Union Station Hotel, Autograph Collection

A chic time-honored Nashville property
VERIFIED LUXURY
Walk into Nashville’s Union Station Hotel, and you will be transported into a bygone era of high society that valued glamorous travel. For more than 100 years, this 125-room hotel was a center for commerce in the south: trains steamed in and out of the station while travelers marveled at the beauty of the building’s hand-wrought iron railings, walnut beams, marble floors and stained-glass barrel-vaulted ceiling.

Today, the elegance endures thanks to a painstaking 2007 renovation that restored the building and outfitted each individual room with custom furnishings, crisp white bed linens, and polished subway-tiled and marble bathrooms. Another revitalizing effort completed in late 2015, helping the property achieve even more of its former grandeur.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • None of the 125 rooms and suites are alike yet they all feature large windows, plush triple sheeting, leather accents and bath products from William Roam.
  • Eighteen-foot ceilings in the fifth-floor units offer a sense of dimension.
  • A bit of an epicurean detour from a city famous for hot chicken and biscuits, the newly opened Carter’s puts an elegant spin on Southern standards.
Things to Know
  • There are 128 stained-glass panels in Union Station Hotel’s ceiling and windows.
  • When you visit Carter’s bar, located in the train station’s former ticket counter, opt for a signature cocktail such as the Music City Mash (whiskey, smoked maple simple syrup and chocolate bitters).
  • As a former train station, the hotel’s location is understandably spot-on. Not a five-block walk from your room, in fact, is Bridgestone Arena, the home of the Nashville Predators NHL team and a major concert venue for top musicians.
