Aspire at Mohegan Sun

Exclusive luxury in a casino resort
VERIFIED LUXURY

Upon entering the lobby of Aspire at Mohegan Sun, you know this is not a typical casino hotel. The décor — black, gray and blue geometric patterns accented with golden undertones — is flashy without going overboard. Floor-to-ceiling windows cast a delicate light, creating a clean, modern aesthetic and a feeling of serenity.

Mohegan Sun’s latest innovation, the hotel-within-a-hotel on the top floors of Sky Tower aims to make it even more of an elevated luxury experience. There’s an Aspire-only valet entrance in addition to the lobby, spacious accommodations, a 24-hour butler to pamper you and a thoughtful arrival gift in the form of a Native American dreamcatcher or Godiva chocolates.

You also gain entry to Thirty Three, a private dining and gaming room with scenic views of the Connecticut countryside and Thames River. It’s one of the resort’s most refined spaces.

As a guest at Aspire, you will have access to Mohegan Sun’s other excitements, too: world-class entertainment, an array of restaurants, shopping and more than 350,000 square feet of gaming space. The complex is one of Connecticut’s premier destinations.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The Aspire floors (31 to 36 in the Sky Tower) offer a respite from the Mohegan Sun’s buzzing main gaming and dining areas. The ambiance is sophisticated without being stuffy or pretentious.
  • Upon arrival, your Aspire butler will meet you in the lobby before fulfilling requests as detailed as adjusting the room temperature and turning down your bed in the evening to serving meals in your room and assisting with dining and entertainment reservations.
  • As a guest at Mohegan Sun, you also get entry to the recently refreshed Mandara Spa, located on the third floor of Sky Tower. The spa — which goes toe-to-toe with Aspire in terms of providing a VIP experience — has a variety of rejuvenating treatments incorporating a mix of Balinese-inspired healing touches, traditional European therapies and regional influences in a soothing environment.
  • Entertainment continues to be a big draw to the Connecticut casino resort. Recent acts include singers Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban and Justin Timberlake; dancer Derek Hough from ABC’s Dancing with the Stars; and a slew of comedians.
  • All Aspire rooms come with complimentary access for two to Thirty Three, where you can dine on light fare throughout the day and order craft cocktails and play on private blackjack and roulette tables after 3 p.m.

Things to Know

  • After booking, expect a call from a concierge 48 hours in advance of the stay to confirm your reservation and glean information to make your visit a customized VIP experience.
  • Because Mohegan Sun is on a Native American tribal reservation, smoking is permitted throughout the resort except in specially designated areas. Thirty Three is a nonsmoking area.
  • While the resort has always catered to adults who love gaming, exceptional food and nightlife, it also provides family activities, such as Kids Quest children’s club and Cyber Quest arcade, two indoor pools and kid-friendly restaurants like Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana (a Connecticut icon), Johnny Rockets and Hash House A Go Go.

The Rooms

  • The luxury hotel includes 66 Aspire Deluxe rooms, 19 super suites and eight Aspire River Suites. All accommodations have outstanding vistas of the Thames River and densely forested Mohegan reservation.
  • Aspire Deluxe rooms have up to 450 square feet with a plush king or two queen beds, a love seat, a desk and a bathroom stocked with L’Occitane products.
  • The 3,500-square-foot Royal Suite is the largest and most lavish accommodation at Mohegan Sun. It consists of two master bedrooms, a Jacuzzi, a circular living room, a butler pantry/kitchen and limo service to and from the airport.

The Restaurants

  • You won’t go hungry at this sprawling casino resort. Choose from nearly 50 dining and drinking establishments, from casual coffee, burger, ice cream and cupcake stands to rowdy bars and elegant sit-down restaurants.
  • Mexican cantina Sol Toro (tucked into a corner behind the Casino of the Sky casino) recently got a facelift but still serves delectable cuisine. Don’t miss the margaritas (housemade mix makes all the difference) and the tableside guacamole with mix-ins like shrimp, corn or roasted garlic.
  • Debuted in June, novelle is a unique nightlife spot that allows you to craft your own story for the evening’s activities, choosing from fine dining and drinks, dancing, gaming and other activities.
  • Game On is another new option. The interactive restaurant and bar in the Earth Expo & Convention Center keeps the fun going with a bowling alley, ping pong tables, karaoke, a 65-foot bar and live entertainment.
