Butler service is a St. Regis staple, and just another way this regal Moscow hotel treats you like royalty.
The buffet breakfast at Osteria A Tavola is a tasty introduction to Russian cuisine. Caviar, smoked salmon and freshly made crepes can be found alongside a bountiful array of morning staples, including fresh fruit, pastries and yogurt.
The bi-level Iridium Spa provides a serene sanctuary. Save time for a dip in the mosaic-tiled pool and look up to soak in a soothing fresco of a blue sky and white puffy clouds.
Unusual for a city-center hotel, all 210 rooms at The St. Regis Moscow Nikolskaya come with deep-soaking tubs — a welcome respite after strolling around the capital.

Things to Know

The hotel does not have its own garage, only street parking. Have your butler park your car or skip the ride altogether and take the metro — there’s a station adjacent to the property.
Previously, a large patisserie was in the hotel building. A part of it still survives today and you can try its sweets.
In keeping with St. Regis tradition (the bloody mary was invented at The St. Regis New York), the luxury Moscow hotel serves up its own version of the classic tomato-based tipple. The Red Maria incorporates a vodka-beetroot twist in homage to borscht, a Russian beet gazpacho.
Upon check-in, a small present awaits in your room — delicious macaroons and fruits.

The Rooms

Befitting the property’s 210 aristocratic roots, all rooms at The St. Regis Moscow Nikolskaya have high ceilings, giving them a grand feel.
The décor follows suit with gold inlays, dark wooden furniture and rich fabrics. The floor is covered with soft, comfortable carpet. Artistic touches like statuettes and reproductions of period paintings lend an air of elegance.
Some rooms overlook the central courtyard, while others peer out onto the streets and squares of Moscow. While the vibrant city scenes are enticing, the accommodations facing the inner sanctum offer a quieter stay.
The opulent 1,722-square-foot Royal Suite impresses with 16-foot ceilings, lavish décor (oak furniture, crystal chandeliers and silk accents), an eight-seat dining room, a gray marble bathroom with gold fixtures, and panoramic views over Lubyanka Square.

The Look

From top to bottom, the vibe of The St. Regis Moscow Nikolskaya is Old World opulence. From the lobby and Orlov Lounge to the corridors and the elevators, the design heavily features gilded details, dark wood furnishings, elegant chandeliers and classical music.
The lobby’s double grand staircase is a highlight. The marble steps, detailed iron work, bold columns and dramatic mezzanine, all punctuated by shimmering candelabras make for an Instagram-worthy entrance.
The stained-glass dome above the lobby is original, preserved from the 19th-century construction of the building. The grand centerpiece was crafted by French architect Edouard Nierman, the same creative mind behind Paris' famed Moulin Rouge.
Good for private parties or grand celebrations, the Rooftop Terrace is a sleek glass-enclosed space on the eighth floor, where sweeping city panoramas take center stage. If you're lucky, you might even get to enjoy your buffet breakfast here with a side of Moscow vistas.
