Sporting more than 100,000 roses, the gardens also boast olive groves, orange and almond trees, jasmine, rose geranium, night-blooming cetrum, cactus and prickly pear blossoms that will leave you intoxicated with their sweet scents.
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech offers its own private gardens where you can unwind, in addition to soothing vitality baths, alfresco treatment areas and two hammams for some Arabic-style pampering.
You’re guaranteed lavish accommodations. There are no “basic” rooms here — the only choices at this luxury hotel are amenity-laden villas or suites with a chic, modern look that still retain a local flavor.

The Rooms

The 54 private villas are palatial accommodations, ranging from 3,100 to 4,550 square feet. Offering one or two bedrooms, the stylish spaces each feature a courtyard garden centered around a swimming pool as well as a hot tub, an outdoor shower and a fireplace.
Four luxury suites are also available, providing different configurations and amenities such as plunge pools and balconies with mountain views. Two Infinity Pool Suites come with a garden, a hammam, direct spa access and a private infinity pool just outside your door.
All rooms incorporate the Asian aesthetic that Mandarin Oriental is known for while tastefully incorporating Moroccan elements, such as locally made rugs, tile work and fabrics.
The attention to detail makes each space an oasis of calm. For example, every day the housekeeping staff restocks your suite with fresh fruit, cold water, mint lemonade and treats, and TVs are hidden in the footboards of the beds in the villas.

The Restaurants

An onsite organic garden supplies much of the produce for the restaurant kitchens. What isn’t grown here is purchased from nearby farmers or vendors.
Enjoy a modern take on classic Moroccan cuisine at Mes’Lalla, the hotel’s fine-dining venue. Helmed by chef Meryem Cherkaoui, the restaurant’s menu features beautifully plated delights, such as velvety Jerusalem artichoke soup with green cardamom, slow-cooked beef shank with chickpeas and couscous with seven vegetables.
At Ling Ling, you’ll be treated to a meal that pairs the food around the drinks instead of the other way around. Head chef Tong Chee Hwee presents Cantonese dishes that are great for sharing, while a high-energy soundtrack curated by Pathaan, the resident Hakkasan DJ in London, pumps in the background.
Pull up a chair near the pool to enjoy an alfresco lunch. The Pool Garden restaurant’s menu is conducive to a variety of diets — you’ll find vegan options, such as Buddha bowls with organic vegetables and grains, alongside a meat lover’s gourmet burger of the month served with housemade French fries.
