Encore Macau

A sophisticated all-suite Macau resort
VERIFIED LUXURY
Like its sister property in Vegas, Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Encore Macau is no shrinking violet.

Enter the all-suite hotel's dedicated lobby and the first thing you see is an enormous tank of luminous jellyfish swimming in a deep blue sea right behind the reception desk. Look up and you’ll be dazzled by a chandelier made from more than 1,300 rock crystals, with more crystals jutting out of wall installations beside fragrant, oversized flower arrangements.

The beguiling Macau stay has its own plush spa, chic dining and shopping outlets (Chanel, Cartier, Piaget), and is connected to Wynn’s gaming areas, pool and gardens.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The entire Wynn Macau property includes two towers and Encore is the more exclusive and luxurious sister to Wynn.
  • Between the two of them, Encore Macau and Wynn Macau are home to 11 bars and restaurants. Whatever cuisine you crave, you’ll find here.
  • Shoppers will delight in Esplanade at Encore’s offering of a smorgasbord of high-end brands, as well as limited-edition jewelry.
  • On the 205,000 square foot casino floor, table games include Baccarat, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud, No Limit Texas Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha Poker, Roulette, Sic Bo, and, of course, slots.
Things to Know
  • Encore at Wynn Macau is located on Macau’s main island, only a few minutes’ complimentary shuttle from the Macau Ferry Pier, or 15 minutes from the Taipa Ferry Pier or Macau International Airport.
  • Encore Macau is adjacent—and connected—to the rest of the Wynn Macau resort, giving guests the freedom to wander between the properties.
  • The best time to visit Encore Macau is in the fall or spring, when the weather is neither too hot nor too cold (though winters are fairly mild in Macau, with temperatures rarely dropping below 45 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • You might want to avoid traveling during the humid summer or near big Chinese holidays—the weeks surrounding Chinese New Year bring festive crowds to the resort.
The Rooms
  • Encore Macau’s guest rooms take the usual hotel room and turn it into something altogether original. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the hotel's suites let light flood in, adding light to the bold, eye-catching space.
  • The color palette bucks the usual calming hues found in most hotels and replaces those with culturally symbolic reds and golds; those colors frame furniture that has a hint of the classic but with a sleek modern feel.
  • As you’d expect, Encore Macau’s Wynn signature Sealy Posturepedic beds are hugely comfortable—delightfully soft yet firm enough to ensure a great night’s sleep. The linens, including the duvet for the down comforter and the pillowcases, are fine Egyptian cotton.
  • In the Encore Deluxe Suites, the bathroom area is as generous as the bedroom and living areas, with honey-toned polished stone giving a warm feel.
  • In the Grand Salon Suites, the living room dominates, with a communal table for entertaining, while the bedroom and bathroom are secluded next door.
The Restaurants
  • The resort’s fine-dining restaurant, Golden Flower, is a must during your visit. Golden Flower serves Shandong and Sichuan delicacies as well as special dishes in the Tan style, a special cuisine that originated in the Qing Dynasty.
  • 99 Noodles is a more casual eatery at Encore Macau. The funky shop offers hand-pulled noodles and congee.
  • Café Encore’s Chinese and Macanese classics are served in a jovial setting with black and white marble floors, lime green chairs and frescoes on the walls.
  • Also on the Wynn property (but outside Encore), you’ll find five more restaurants, ranging from upscale Chinese to high-class Italian specialties.
