Viceroy L'Ermitage Beverly Hills

A Beverly Hills retreat with A-list amenities
VERIFIED LUXURY
The high-profile set hides out at the Five-Star Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, a sanctuary that protects guests from prying eyes and pampers them with superb service. This hotel sets itself apart with its intimate feel and exclusivity (the pool, for example, is for hotel guests only, which isn’t always the case at L.A. hotels). The rooms are also some of the most spacious in Tinseltown, with cutting-edge technology, large walk-in closets and balconies that overlook lovely tree-lined Burton Way.

The hotel really feels like a home away from home — it’s as if you’re staying at a friend’s house, and a massive one at that. A hangout for celebrities and a Five-Star rating to boot, the Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverly Hills is a stylish standout among Los Angeles hotels. The luxurious pool has some amazing views of Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverly Hills is a small boutique hotel. It’s simple to navigate around the residential-like property and it feels cozier than other gigantic hotels.
  • The rooftop pool offers way more than swimming. Lounge in one of the private cabanas that can be rented by the day or half-day — they come with complimentary water, fruit and soda, and feature a flat-screen TV.
  • Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverly Hills spa truly pampers. There are two private treatment rooms primed for pampering, or if you’d prefer you can have a facial or massage in your room or in a cabana next to the rooftop pool.
  • While you’re at the spa, make sure to check out the gym — it features state-of-the-art equipment and a personal training system by celebrity trainer Joshua Love.

Things to Know
  • The Lobby Lounge & Bar is showbiz lore. This lounge is both hip and comfortable at once, and it’s popular with movie stars and their negotiating agents, so if you hang around long enough, you’ll likely see an A-lister or two.
  • You can ride in style: The hotel’s complimentary house car — a chauffeured Mercedes — is available to shuttle you around Beverly Hills.
  • The hotel keeps track of you during your stay, making notes of what you like and what you don’t, plus anything you may need. You can bet on your next trip the staff will serve you even better according to your preferences.
  • Don’t miss the rooftop yoga classes on Sundays and Mondays. You’ll get treated to a complimentary smoothie afterwards, which will make the views just a little bit sweeter.
The Rooms
  • Viceroy L’Ermitage Beverly Hills has spacious rooms that feel both chicly spare but super-comfortable. The Asian-inspired rooms are minimalist, featuring maple wood furniture and English sycamore paneling.
  • Custom-made platform beds are decked out in sleek white Egyptian cotton linens and silk shams. Two velvet armchairs sit to the side of the bed with an ottoman and a side table and lamp, good for reading or for guests.
  • Natural light floods in from the French doors, which open to a small balcony. (Most rooms have balconies, some larger than others.)
  • Head into the sleek bathroom and you’ll find the same bright design — cream marble countertops sit on mahogany cabinets, which are stocked with towels.
  • The beige marble soaking tub sits below a large mirror, while the glass-door shower is separate. Your bathroom experience will be complete compliments of the two cozy, white Viceroy L’Ermitage robes awaiting your arrival.
The Restaurants
  • The hotel’s restaurant, Livello, has a small and intimate dining room, with a large secluded outdoor patio plus a private dining room. To go along with the intimate setting, the menu is also on the small side with a select variety of offerings, and it features mostly meats and fish.
  • Executive chef Mirko Paderno and chef de cuisine Benjamin Dayag will dazzle you with their Italian dishes, in which all the pastas are housemade.
  • Livello’s design style is contemporary and minimalistic, like the rest of the hotel. The outdoor patio features plenty of tables between the lush garden and babbling fountain. And there’s an outdoor fireplace, making a nice spot to sit at night when it gets a bit chilly.
  • The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel also features Livello Lounge & Bar, which is famous for the many writers who have penned well-known movie scripts there.
  • Sit on a sofa with a smaller coffee table–like table or in an armchair with smaller tables for two, or snag a seat at the bar. Viceroy L’Ermitage’s Lounge & Bar has a very retro feel, with a separate bar menu with items like Kobe beef sliders and an heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad.
