The Maybourne Beverly Hills

Spanish Colonial elegance in Tinseltown
VERIFIED LUXURY
Located smack-dab in the middle of Beverly Hills' Golden Triangle, The Maybourne Beverly Hills is the pinnacle of decadence that has come to represent the neighborhood. The entrance of the property is on Canon Drive, while the backside backs up to Beverly Canon Gardens, a beautiful courtyard that makes for a good place to sit with a book.

Once inside, you'll swoon over the spacious rooms, complete with luxurious bathrooms and comfortable beds. After settling in, check out one of the hotel's best experiences, which includes having breakfast at The Rooftop Grill while savoring views of the Hollywood Hills and indulging in cold-pressed juices such as The Green Drink (spinach, celery, kale, ginger, cucumber, lemon and green apple).

While staying at the posh property, be sure to take advantage of the spa's treatments, gym, mineral pool, steam, sauna and relaxation lounges.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The view on the ninth floor is breathtaking — you can see all the way out to the Hollywood Hills and the legendary Hollywood sign — and it’s a serene spot for relaxation. Cabanas surround the blue-mosaic-tiled pool (dive in to hear music playing underwater) with plenty of chairs and towels to go around and if you’re hungry, grab a bite at the adjacent Rooftop Grill, which serves tasty cocktails, sandwiches and salads.
  • You don’t even have to leave the Beverly Hills hotel to wind down with a fine wine or cocktails. The intimate Cigar Bar pours aged Macallan scotch, including a break-the-bank $64,000 shot and The Bar, situated by the gardens, hums with live entertainment on select nights.
  • If you’ve ever wondered what it was like to live in the golden age of Hollywood, the hotel will bring you there. Its décor takes inspiration from the Spanish colonial style that was popular in Beverly Hills during the 1920s and ’30s.
  • When you stay at The Maybourne Beverly Hills, you’re near the middle of Beverly Hills, just a few blocks from shopping on Rodeo Drive and fine dining. Plus, you’re a short drive from the trendy restaurants in West Hollywood.
  • Don't miss some indulgence at the spa. Check out the L. Raphael facials and the hydrotherapy treatments.
Things to Know
  • Treat yourself to a haircut at the Kim Vo Salon near the hotel’s spa. Most likely, you'll see Kim Vo himself. E! News watchers will recognize him from his many appearances on the show (the celebrity hairstylist is often in his flagship salon).
  • One look at the top-notch gym facilities and you’ll want to keep up with your physical regimen (and gym-goers have full access to the spa facilities). A bunch of great fitness classes are offered.
The Rooms
  • Guest rooms at The Maybourne Beverly Hills meld old-school, glamorous décor with modern amenities and gorgeous views. The design of the hotel harkens back to the Spanish colonial revival style that dominated in the 1920s and 1930s, and this elegant look extends into your guest room, with oversized paintings and spacious ivory marble bathrooms.
  • An executive desk, padded armchairs and an L-shaped chaise lounge fill the space, but it doesn't feel cramped (even if you have standard accommodations). The warm wood finish in the room balances well with the calming cream tones of the walls and the abundant L.A. sunshine streaming through your window.
  • The crisp white linens and the gold-trimmed duvet soften the dark wood headboard and bench at the foot of the bed. Across the way, a large entertainment system stands along the wall with a built-in TV, and wood-frame cabinet doors with diamond-patterned gold panels open to reveal a Bose surround-sound stereo.
  • If you like lounging in bed in the morning, laze between the 500-thread-count Fili D'oro sheets and use the bedside panel to control the white curtains, lights and the 42-inch television. And almost all the guest rooms in the Beverly Hills hotel come with a terrace (the best rooms have furnished balconies or patios), where you can admire the courtyard and get some more of that California sun.
  • When you step into your room's elegant bathroom at The Maybourne Beverly Hills, the gorgeous beige and white mosaic wall tiling may look familiar. It should — the same design greets you on the lobby floor upon entering the hotel.
Nearby Attractions
  • The Maybourne Beverly Hills is in the Golden Triangle, home to most of the upscale shops for which the city is known. Rodeo Drive sits just a few blocks away, if you want to pop your head into the requisite Jimmy Choo, Prada and La Perla, while the bigger stores — Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Barneys — line nearby Wilshire Boulevard.
  • Hightail it to Hollywood and be a tourist for a day. Check out the stars on the Walk of Fame, the handprints at the legendary Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the red carpet at the Kodak Theatre (home to the Academy Awards).
  • Sit and read at Beverly Canon Gardens. Just walk out the doors on the side of the luxury hotel and you’ll enter a lush garden with colonnaded walkways, trickling fountains and tons of quiet nooks.
  • You could spend the whole day dipping into the galleries along Rodeo and the surrounding streets. Speaking of which, there’s nothing better than strolling the boulevards and enjoying the beauty around the hotel.
