Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya

Modern luxury in the heart of the city
VERIFIED LUXURY

From its glamorous “Stairway to Heaven” (an illuminated 43-foot spiral staircase) to its contemporary, one-of-a-kind sculptures, Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya emanates style.

It starts from the minute you arrive. Upon entering, your eyes are met with the dazzle of giant crystal sculptures suspended from the ceiling surrounded by cascading golden rings. It continues in the guest rooms with oak herringbone floors and bathrooms with streaked marble floors and gray mosaic tiled walls.

Take a break and enjoy afternoon tea service from Al Soor (named after the street on which the property is located) and, afterward, stroll around the grand hotel to admire the unique collection of art, one of the most popular being the hand-painted bronze Etymology of the Baroque by British artist Marc Quinn.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Alfresco poolside cabanas are a highlight of the Kuwait hotel. Couples especially appreciate dining on Australian wagyu burgers and other international dishes from Al Bandar while watching the sun set over the city.
  • Guest rooms are decorated in rich patterns, mixing modern edges with touches of traditional colors reminiscent of the flowing desert sands. All units include a deep, relaxing freestanding tub and cooling rain showers.
  • After a shopping-filled day, opt for a calming session from The Spa. Indulge in the palatial Moroccan hammam, complete with heated marble floors and convex walls, or a cooling swim in the grand pool with amazing views of Kuwait.
  • The lush green gardens of Al Shaheed Park, the city’s largest urban park, are just a stone’s throw away from the hotel.
  • The rooftop restaurants include a four-element theme: a green living wall between restaurants represents the earth; Al Bandar’s beautiful terrace symbolizes wind; Asian restaurant Sintoho depicts water; and the sleek Dai Forni conjures fire with its shining copper wood-burning ovens.

Things to Know

  • The outdoor pool permits kids 16 or under, accompanied by an adult. However, the indoor pool does not allow children.
  • Be sure to book ahead on weekends and public holidays.
  • Rooftop activities are limited in summer and closed during certain weather conditions. However, there is an indoor pool, Jacuzzi and an array of restaurants as alternatives when the forecast doesn’t look promising.
  • Families with children will love Fereej Club, a desert-themed retreat designed especially for adventure. A water fountain feature is great for the summer while PlayStation games and craft-making sessions will keep kids entertained any time of the year.

The Rooms

  • All rooms in the luxury hotel are bathed in beiges and browns with a pop of burnt orange representing the setting sun. They also include a small seating area with a couch and table, an ornate standalone tub and a separate shower set against gray marble.
  • The State and Royal suites are top-of-the-line grandeur spread across more than 4,000 square feet. Inside you’ll find luxurious furniture, an office, a high-tech media room and adjoining rooms that allow even more people to bask in the warm spaces.
  • Bulgari bath products are found throughout the rooms while fragrant Jo Malone toiletries grace the Signature suites.
  • With 284 rooms, 67 of them suites, spread out over 21 floors, there’s a wide range of choices. For the best views, choose accommodations overlooking the Kuwait skyline. And, of course, the higher you go, the better the panorama of the city’s glowing, orange-and-purple sunsets.

The Restaurants

  • For a taste of Italy, visit Dai Forni. Rustic pizzas fresh from the wood-fired ovens, handmade pastas using semolina shipped from Italy and sea bass caught in Greece and then cooked in a salted shell served table side are a few of the sumptuous dishes you can try.
  • Far East Asian flavors can be savored at Sintoho. Teppanyaki dishes grilled right in front of you instantly transport you to Tokyo.
  • Early risers will enjoy Elements’ sun-kissed international buffet served by friendly staff catering to your every need. Surrounded by flowing crisscrossed bands of deep walnut and geometric-patterned stone floors, the clean décor will take your breath away.
  • Al Bandar is a hit with young locals looking for an upscale but chilled atmosphere. Listen to the live DJ while sampling light dishes, shisha and mocktails. If you’re visiting during the cooler months, someone from the Four Seasons team will provide you with a light blanket and fire-lit heater to keep you warm.
