Nanuku, Auberge Resorts Collection

A beachside retreat with soul
VERIFIED LUXURY

Sprawled across 550 acres, Nanuku, Auberge Resorts Collection offers beachside bliss on the outskirts of the peaceful town of Pacific Harbor. From the lush tropical gardens to the bright blue water to the charming staff, the resort highlights why Fiji is an incredible place to discover.

The resort forms its own small village where you can roam freely on foot or by bicycle. The Club House — the main area with an open-air restaurant, spa, infinity pool, activities lawn and small shop — acts as the luxury resort’s central sanctuary. Days can be spent partaking in Nanuku’s gamut of activities, like grass weaving, coral gardening, coconut husking, or simply going back and forth between lazing away in a beachside hammock and cooling off in the sea or pool.

No matter if you’re visiting as a couple in search of solitude, a family wanting nonstop action or a large group with varied interests, you’re sure to feel welcome and well cared for at Nanuku.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The Fiji hotel hosts a variety of luxurious accommodation options that range from spacious 650-square-foot suites to six-bedroom residences, all with a pool or outdoor hot tub. Opt for one of the beachfront stays, where you’ll have private beach access and wake to ocean views.
  • Friendly, always-smiling staff takes the time to learn your name, drink preferences and interests, showcasing Fiji’s reputation for warm hospitality.
  • Nanuku’s Fijian meke (traditional dance) performances, fire walking, storytelling and kava ceremonies — where you can learn the etiquette behind drinking Fiji’s relaxing drink of choice — provide insight into local culture.
  • Go on an adventure trip to Nanuku Island, a private island available exclusively to resort guests, where thriving coral reefs and palm-lined beaches await. Snorkel, picnic, swim and enjoy feeling disconnected from daily life — request the luxury glamping experience to spend the night in a beachfront safari tent.
  • Kids staying at Nanuku can partake in Lailai Children’s Club activities that include basket weaving, snorkeling, kayaking, ziplining, baking treats and more. Little ones under 6 years old can spend their day building sandcastles, completing crafts and exploring the resort under the watchful eye of a nanny.

Things to Know

  • For a scenic and quick transfer to Nanuku, book a 20-minute flight to the resort’s private airstrip from Nadi.
  • Keep a flexible schedule when it comes to outdoor activities, as the weather in Pacific Harbour can bring a tropical rainstorm one hour and direct sunshine the next. It’s common to need an umbrella and a bathing suit in the same day.
  • Request to participate in the Fijian Food Safari, where you’ll be taken to a nearby market and taught how to shop for fresh produce, husk coconuts and cook the specialty seafood dish kokoda alongside skilled chefs.
  • Rejuvenate your senses with a traditional bobo massage at Lomana Spa and Wellness Centre. Skilled therapists knead and apply pressure to tense areas of the body, each movement and breath working to relieve any lingering stress.
  • Dining at Nanuku for lunch and dinner is well worth it for fresh seafood and South Pacific cuisine. It may be a challenge to find better meal options in Pacific Harbor’s central area or elsewhere around the island.

The Rooms

  • Stays are complete with a Villa Mama and Villa Buddy, dedicated staff who are happy to assist with any housekeeping duties, local transfers in the resort’s golf carts and activity arrangements.
  • Large groups will love staying at the Owner’s Residence, a six-bedroom property that overlooks the ocean with seven balconies and three plunge pools.
  • An in-room miniature popcorn maker and movie library make staying in an enticing proposition. Snack away as kernels are replenished daily.
  • Accommodations are stylishly decorated with traditional Fijian artwork and wooden sculptures.

  • Venture to Suva for a day of exploring fresh fruit markets, admiring artifacts at the Fiji Museum and strolling through Thurston Gardens to see native plant and bird life. The capital of Fiji is 30 minutes southwest of the beachfront hotel.
  • Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park is a must-see to admire otherworldly dunes. Be sure to visit the park’s forested area to peer into the treetops in search of more than 20 bird species.
