Northern Vermont

Northern Vermont is home to rolling green hills, farmland and gorgeous mountainous terrain, making it a top destination for summer outdoor adventures and wintertime ski season. The northern portion is home to the state’s biggest cities — Burlington, Montpelier and Barre — but these are hardly big by any other state’s standards (Burlington is tops with a population of 40,000). With small towns punctuating the rural countryside, the region’s natural beauty is what draws thousands of seasonal visitors. The college town vibe of Burlington only adds to Vermont’s best features: mountains, wilderness, ski resorts and the vast body of water that is Lake Champlain.
